🌿 Introduction
Who are you—really?
Are you just a body that eats, works, and sleeps? Or are you something deeper?
The Bible tells us that we are not defined by what we see in the mirror. We are spirit beings, created in God’s image, called to live in His presence. Let’s take a closer look at what it means to be a spiritual man or woman in Christ.
✨ 1. We Are Spiritual Beings
📖 Genesis 1:26–27
God made us in His image. That means we are more than flesh and blood—we carry His likeness. Deep within, you are a spiritual being, designed to reflect God’s glory and walk in His authority.
👉 Think about it: When you look at yourself, do you first see your body… or do you see the image of God inside you?
✨ 2. Spirit, Soul, and Body
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:23
You are made of three parts:
Spirit – your inner man, where God dwells.
Soul – your mind, emotions, and will.
Body – your outer shell, your earthly dwelling place.
When the spirit leads, your soul and body follow in God’s order. But when the body or soul takes over, life feels out of balance.
👉 Reflection: Am I letting my emotions rule me, or is my spirit (renewed in Christ) leading the way?
✨ 3. The Difference Between Soul and Spirit
📖 Hebrews 4:12; 2 Corinthians 4:16
The Word of God is sharp—it cuts deep and shows the difference between soul and spirit.
The soul: temporary thoughts and feelings.
The spirit: eternal and renewed in Christ.
Your inner man is growing stronger each day, even when your body feels weak.
👉 Pause: In your daily decisions, are you listening to your spirit, or only to your thoughts and emotions?
✨ 4. Born of the Spirit: A New Creation
📖 John 3:3–6; 2 Corinthians 5:17
Jesus said, “You must be born again.” When you received Christ, something amazing happened—your spirit was reborn! You became a new creation. The old is gone. The new has come.
👉 Truth to hold on to: You don’t carry your past anymore. In Christ, you are brand new.
✨ 5. Walking in the New Nature
📖 Romans 6:2
You don’t need to “try harder” to be spiritual. God has already given you His righteousness and holiness. Your part is to walk in the new nature He has placed inside you.
👉 Practice this: Each morning, remind yourself:
“I am a spirit, I have a soul, and I live in a body. Today, I choose to walk in my new identity in Christ.”
🌱 Conclusion
You are not just flesh and blood. You are a spirit being, made alive in Christ. You have a soul, and you live in a body. When you live from your spirit, you discover the joy, freedom, and power of your new identity in Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
🙏 Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Teach me to live by the Spirit, not by my emotions or my flesh. Help me to walk daily in the identity You’ve given me. Amen.
