The Lord’s Supper stands as a profound and sacred remembrance of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Instituted by Jesus Himself, it is an invitation to continually recall His sacrifice and to proclaim the salvation accomplished through His body and blood.
Scripture reveals that Christ is the true Passover Lamb—pure, without blemish, and perfectly offered for humanity’s redemption. Just as the blood of the lamb placed on the doorposts protected the Israelites from destruction during the first Passover, the blood of Jesus now provides eternal deliverance, protection, and freedom for all who believe. His sacrifice fulfilled what the Passover foreshadowed, bringing salvation not through repeated rituals, but through a once-for-all offering.
In the New Covenant, the bread and the cup represent Christ’s body given and His blood poured out for forgiveness. When believers partake in the Lord’s Supper, they proclaim His death and remember that through His suffering came healing, restoration, and wholeness. His wounds secured not only forgiveness of sins but also the promise of renewal and life.
The Lord’s Supper also reflects Christ’s deep desire for fellowship with His people. It is both a remembrance of past sacrifice and a declaration of present grace, reminding believers that redemption, protection, healing, and hope flow continually from the cross.
