In a world that often celebrates quick success and instant results, the Word of God reminds us of a deeper truth: What matters most is not just how we begin, but how we finish. In this powerful message, Pastor Caleb Khaling urges believers to keep their eyes on Jesus Christ, who is not only the one who initiates our faith but also the one who completes it.
📖 Hebrews 12:2 says:
“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…”
This verse is a divine reminder that Jesus walks with us from the first step of our faith journey to the last. He doesn’t abandon us in the middle. He is faithful to finish what He has started.
Many of God’s greatest works began in humble places. Churches that impact thousands, ministries that change nations, and leaders who transform communities often start in small, quiet ways. But God does not despise small beginnings. What He starts, He sustains. And what He sustains, He completes.
📖 Philippians 1:6 says:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Your beginning may be small, but when it is in God’s hands, it is destined for significance.
One of the most powerful illustrations Pastor Caleb shares is the story of Joseph. God gave Joseph a dream—a vision of purpose and leadership. But before that dream was fulfilled, Joseph had to walk through:
Betrayal by his own brothers
Slavery in a foreign land
False accusations and imprisonment
Yet, in all these things, God was with Joseph. He did not complain. He did not give up. Instead, he remained faithful, honest, and obedient, even in adversity.
Joseph continued to use the gifting God had given him—the ability to interpret dreams—no matter where he was placed. And in due time, the very gift he used faithfully in prison brought him before Pharaoh and fulfilled his destiny.
This story teaches us a timeless lesson:
Your pain is not meant to destroy you; it’s meant to prepare you.
The valley of shadow is not your destination—it’s your training ground.
We often want the promise without the process. But God’s way always includes preparation. Sometimes He closes a door to open a better one. Sometimes He delays your promotion because your character is still being shaped. Don’t rush—wait for His perfect timing.
📖 Psalm 23:4 says:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me…”
God does not waste your waiting season. Every hardship is refining you, preparing you to carry the weight of your calling.
Keep your eyes on Jesus – He started your journey, and He alone can finish it.
Stay faithful in small things – Your faithfulness in the valley prepares you for promotion.
Trust God’s timing – His delays are not denials. His process is for your perfection.
Use your God-given gifts – Keep serving, keep building, keep believing.
Jesus is not only the Author of your faith—He is also the Finisher. He does not give up on what He starts. The vision God gave you is still alive. The dream is not dead. It’s being shaped, tested, and refined—for His glory and your growth.
So when doors close, when people leave, when the path gets dark—don’t give up. Fix your eyes on Jesus. He is writing your story, and with Him, every chapter leads to a glorious ending.
