In this insightful message, Pastor Binay Bhandari teaches us the biblical distinction between calling, anointing, and ordination—three vital aspects of God’s plan for every minister of the gospel.

📞 The Calling

Calling is when God identifies and appoints a person for a specific purpose. Whether as an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher, this divine call comes from the heart of God and reveals our destiny in Christ. It is not based on human choice but divine selection.

🛡️ The Anointing

Anointing is the supernatural empowerment that enables someone to walk in their calling. It is the presence and power of the Holy Spirit resting upon the person, giving them the grace, boldness, and ability to minister effectively. Anointing sets a person apart and brings fruitfulness to their work.

📜 The Ordination

Ordination is the formal recognition and establishment of someone into a position of responsibility. It is both a public acknowledgment and a spiritual impartation. Through ordination, the church affirms what God has already declared.

✝️ The Five-Fold Ministry

The five-fold ministries—apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher—are divine gifts to the church (Ephesians 4:11–12). Their purpose is to equip the saints, build up the body of Christ, and bring maturity to the Church. Among these, the role of the pastor is especially critical.

🌿 The Role of a Pastor

A true pastor must reflect the character of Christ and live a life above reproach. According to Scripture, a pastor should be:

  • Gentle and spiritually mature
  • A wise steward and financially trustworthy
  • Hospitable and self-controlled
  • Able to teach and guide with patience

⚖️ God Calls—We Confirm

Ultimately, it is God who calls, anoints, and ordains according to His sovereign will. But it is essential that the calling be confirmed by spiritual leaders and witnessed by the church body. A willing heart, humble service, and faithful character are all necessary to fulfill this holy assignment.

“God’s calling is not just about position—it’s about purpose. His anointing gives us power, and ordination sets us in place to serve.” — Pastor Binay Bhandari

We honor those who walk in their calling with humility and passion. May we recognize the gifts in one another, support them in love, and always seek to walk in God’s perfect will for our lives.
